Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United: Alvaro Morata heads winner as Blues dominate Red Devils
Azpilicueta’s lovely cross found an unmarked Morata who headed beyond David De Gea to put Chelsea one point behind the Red Devils.
The win was the perfect response to their 3-0 drubbing at Roma in the Champions League and Conte was delighted to see his players bounce back.
Conte said: “It was a good response after a big defeat. We played a really bad second half in Rome but we deserved to win tonight. It was an impressive performance.
“I don’t want to talk about the combination [between Morata and Azpilicueta] because otherwise our opponents will try to prepare against them!
“It’s not the first time and I’m very happy for Alvaro. He scored a very good goal. The negative aspect is that he must be more clinical to kill the game if we have the chances to do that.
“Azpi is a really fantastic guy and he cares a lot for the club and plays for the shirt and he played a really massive game.”
