Manchester United news: Red Devils’ record at Stamford Bridge since 2002 will shock fans

Manchester United have got little joy from an away trip to Chelsea over the past decade and a half.

The pair meet at Stamford Bridge this coming Sunday, kick off 4:30pm, where Jose Mourinho will be hoping to end a poor run of form when travelling to the Blues.

Since August 2002, here’s how Man United have got on in south west London. Note they’ve recorded only one win in the last 15 years, and that came against a Chelsea team who finished the game with nine men.

23 August 2002: Chelsea 2-2 Man United

30 November 2003: Chelsea 1-0 Man United

15 August 2004: Chelsea 1-0 Man United

29 April 2006: Chelsea 3-0 Man United

9 May 2007: Chelsea 0-0 Man United

26 April 2008: Chelsea 2-1 Man United

21 September 2008: Chelsea 1-1 Man United

8 November 2009: Chelsea 1-0 Man United

1 March 2011: Chelsea 2-1 Man United

5 February 2012: Chelsea 3-3 Man United

28 October 2012: Chelsea 2-3 Man United

19 January 2014: Chelsea 3-1 Man United

18 April 2015: Chelsea 1-0 Man United

7 February 2016: Chelsea 1-1 Man United

23 October 2016: Chelsea 4-0 Man United

In the October victory, United had gone two goals up, before Chelsea clawed their way back into the contest through Juan Mata and Ramires. It was a late, close-range goal from substitute Javier Hernandez that won the three points for the visitors after Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres had been sent off.

Mourinho won’t mind a repeat of such dramatics this weekend if it means his side get one over on his former employers and keep the pressure on title leaders Man City.
