Benitez suffered relegation after becoming manager late in the 2015/16 campaign

Newcastle have made a good start under Rafa Benitez and they look like an experienced Premier League outfit, despite coming up from the Championship this season.
Off the pitch, things are looking up for the Magpies with Mike Ashley, unpopular owner of Newcastle since 2007, putting the club up for sale in October 2017.
League position: 11th (14 points)
Best game: Newcastle 3-0 West Ham
Worst game: Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 Newcastle
Best player: Jamaal Lascelles
Newcastle have performed consistently this season and their captain has been the epitome of that. Lascelles also happens to be the joint top scorer in the league alongside Joselu with two goals.
The centre-back has led the team well and has earned huge praise for his fantastic form. A senior England call-up may be round the corner for Lascelles.
Under Benitez, Newcastle are a well organised team that can cope with the Premier League’s intensity. However, Lascelles being joint top scorer shows goals are difficult to come by, which is something that should be rectified promptly.
Newcastle are on the market but it’s not clear who the next buyer could be and it’s crucial it goes to someone who can take the club to the next level.
