Stoke news: A Premier League assessment of Mark Hughes’ side after eleven games
The likes of Shaqiri and Choupo-Moting will be Stoke’s main provider of goals this season

The 2017/18 campaign has been somewhat underwhelming for the Potters so far as they lie just three points above the relegation zone.
There have been some positive results but also a few heavy defeats which Mark Hughes will be worried about.
League position: 14th (12 points)
Best game: Stoke 1-0 Arsenal
Worst game: Manchester City 7-2 Stoke
Best player: Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
The Cameroon international has been the stand out player for Stoke after signing from Schalke in the summer.
Choupo-Moting has linked up well with Xherdan Shaqiri at times, showing promise of a future partnership developing between the two.
Since their promotion to the Premier League ten years ago, Stoke have been a consistent mid-table side, but their inability to noticeably improve will be a concern due to the type of signings they have made in recent seasons.
Losing 4-0 at home to Chelsea or conceding seven at Man City is not something they will be proud of but the recent return of club captain Ryan Shawcross should see some order restores to Stoke’s back line.
