Transfer report: Leicester City favourites to sign Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Hatem Ben Arfa
Is Hatem Ben Arfa set for a return to the Premier League?
Leicester City are set to beat off competition from Turkish side Fenerbahce to sign former Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa.
The France international has endured a torrid spell at Paris Saint-Germain and appears to have no obvious route back into the first-team picture.
Ben Arfa joined the French giants last summer and played 33 games last season, scoring four goals, but he is yet to make an appearance this term.
This has led to reports linking the 30-year-old with a return to the Premier League, where he last featured for Hull City back in 2015.
And, according to Turkish news outlet Fanatik, Leicester are favourites to land Ben Arfa in January.
New Foxes boss Claude Puel knows the midfielder well having worked alongside the Frenchman during his spell in charge of Nice.
Ben Arfa was a star at Nice, scoring 17 goals in his one season with the club, and Puel’s appointment as Foxes boss is believed to be a determining factor in Ben Arfa’s desire to return to England, with Fenerbahce unlikely to struggle to prise him away from Leicester’s grasp.
