But Bilic’s poor start to the season has led to the Croatian’s job being under threat and reports claim he could be axed in the coming weeks.
Mazzarri, according to TMW, has now been sounded out about taking over at the Hammers after their 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Friday.
The 56-year-old helped Watford beat the drop last season and he is eager to manage in the Premier League again.
Mazzarri has also been linked with taking charge at Everton as well as Leicester City too.
